An impressive cold painted Terracotta statues of a 19th century Arab soldier and young woman dressed in exquisite drapes by Friedrich Goldscheider, circa late 19th century Austria.
In 1885, at forty years of age, Friedrich Goldscheider founded in Vienna 'Goldscheider'sche Porzellan-Manufaktur und Majolica-Fabrik'. The factory produced a wide variety of ceramics, ranging from faience kitchenware to luxurious porcelain objects. But it's the polychrome terracotta figures in particular that have established its reputation and fame.
