Unusual size pictorial Kirman, the rug depicts a Seated Dervish possibly Noor Ali Shah with Kashkul next to him and the axe in his hand.

(Dervish is refer to a members of a Sufi fraternity, or more narrowly to a religious mendicant, who chose or accepted material poverty)

(Kashkul referred to as the beggar's bowl is a container carried by wandering Dervishes and used to collect money and other goods usually after a street session of poetry recitation, religious eulogies, advice or entertainment)
