Of a rectangular form modern Iraqi map rug surrounded by a floral design boarder, signed; "made in the Iraqi prisons", multi colours wool shows different Iraqi provinces and the neighbouring countries, two small square boxes, lower left box calligraphy translate to "Iraq map" (In Arabic) and the scale of the map, top right box showing zoomed in map of Baghdad province.
These rugs used to be woven by the Iraqi prisoners in the Iraqi prisons, this was away to teach the prisoners a new profession to start their career after the end of their sentence, few of these rugs was made and they are very collectable by the rug collectors in the region which makes them very rare.
