AN ORIENTALIST COLD-PAINTED BRONZE SCULPTURE OF A SNAKE CHARMER, FRANZ XAVER BERGMAN, 20TH CENTURY

The central figure is portrayed in traditional robes and a turban, playing a flute to two snakes positioned on the rug before him. The rug features intricate cast geometric borders and central motifs of camels. The underside of the piece displays a textured casting surface with a central mounting bolt securing the figure. Stamped on the underside is a maker mark consisting of the capital letter B contained within a jug or vase shape.
